Taichung County is located in the important position of “located in the center, and controls the path to the north and south.” Therefore, the development history of Taichung County can be regarded as the epitome of developmental history of Taiwan; in addition, the arts developmental history of Taichung County is no exception, the first stage of Historyic development can be traced back to the aboriginals' primitive arts, the next is the Han people's folk arts, after that is Chinese traditional art; Japanese art passed into Taiwan during the Japanese colonization period, and finally western art passed directly or indirectly into Taiwan. This area mainly displays and exhibits” the County Historys that have been in official exhibitions during the Japanese colonization period”, including “Taiwan's fine art exhibition” and ” Taiwan governor-general's fine art exhibition” during 1927-1943, also the introductions of different Historys in Taichung County.

The Historyic development of Taichung County:

Taichung County is the center of Taiwan’s Historyic development whether from the historical viewpoint or background of the people. The place has always been a gathering of people and cultures, and the cultures have also been prosperous. Ever since the Han people brought in their traditional art and literature when they came to Taiwan for cultivating the land, it has established the origin of scholarship in this land. After Taiwan Recovery from Japanese colonization period, the first generation of Historys was born. From this point of observations, we can see that most of the important people in the generation were all from Taichung County. As for the second generation, the percentage from Taichung County was not so high throughout Taiwan; however, there were many Historys that had great cultural influences on Taiwan’s overall Historyic education, especially Ji-chun Liao, Huei-kun Chen, Sia-yu Chen, Jhih-jhu Lin, in addition, not only in Taichung County, but also the great influence throughout Taiwan. Especially Ji-chun Liao, who has absorbed the essences from the Historys Shiotski Momofu and Umekawa Ryuzaburo spread them throughout Taiwan. Jhih-jhu Lin brought the Japanese paintings into Glue Painting and glorifies it. Although Shih-ciao Li was not born in this place, but his lifetime efforts through Huludun art group centered by Huo-cheng Ye and it had great effects on the people.

These Historys were born between 1900-1920 and brought up under the Japanese educations including Ji-chun Liao, Shuei-long Yan, Huei-kun Chen, Huo-cheng Ye, Shih-ciao Li, You-de Lin, Pu-shih Lyu, Bo-shou Lin, Huo-cing Chen, Bao-jia Lin, Jhih-jhu Lin, Sia-yu Chen and De-jheng Liao, who were called the first generation Historys educated in the Japanese Colonization Period. There were some others born in 1921-1930, whose positions were placed between the first and the second generation, also shared the same authority as the first generation, icluding Tian-cong Lin, Bing-nan Jhang, Yao-si Jhang, Guo-dong Liou, Mao-jin Fu, Siao-yun Lu, Jhih-fang Chen.

The second generation of Historys brought up after the Taiwan Recovery from Japanese colonization period, who were born between 1931-1950, including Yi-siou Jhan, Shou-ying Wang, Wun-yao Wu, Wun-zih Chen, Siao-fang Cai, Chao-hu Huang, Da-sheng Liao, Cing-jhih Guo, Ming-sian Jiang, Rong-you Cai, Shih-lian Chen, Zong-ren Ji, Jin-cing Jian, Ying-sin Wang, Guo-hao Yuan, Dong-liang Sie.

The youthful generation of Historys that were born between 1950-1970 including Jheng-yi Cai, Su-yu Ji, Jin-jhong Lin, Teng-tang Chen, Siang Ji, Mei-ling Lyu, Jhen-yang Fang, Deng-cyuan Yu, Jhih-fang Sie, Shuei-yi Wu, Ming-jhong Jhuang, Ciou–yue Huang, Wun-rong Syu, Ruei-fen Liao.
